Stop to visit the archeological site of Vindolanda, an Ancient Roman fortress built along Hadrian's Wall in the 2nd century to protect Roman Britain from the tribes of Scotland. Upon arrival in the medieval city of York, enjoy a brief orientation tour to get the lay of the land. Tonight, stay within the historic walled section of the city.
